Tell Your Story Day

Today is Tell Your Story Day, sponsored by the Harvard College Mental Health Advocacy and Awareness Group (MHAAG).  They've got a wiki at tellyourstory.wikispaces.com where you can post your story anonymously, and there's a listing of events that the organization is holding throughout the day.

One of the benefits of devoting a day to mental health at Harvard is that there's a tendency to isolate incidents and deal with them individually - an attempted suicide, for example, or dependency on caffeine and study drugs, or depression, which has been one of the (perhaps unexpected) topics that has been covered in the first-person on Sex and the Ivy.  If you go on Bored at Lamont, it becomes pretty obvious that a rap session can be awfully helpful for undergrads, if only to vent their frustrations in an environment where it's not always clear where you can go for help.  MHAAG's creating a culture where vulnerability is a little less taboo, and if you're inspired to share your story, check out their wiki, post it on Cambridge Common, or talk to friends and family.
